Fall Is In The Air
Fall is my favorite time of year! I love watching the leaves change color and feeling the crisp cool air start to creep in as summer comes to an end. My favorite part every year is taking a drive up into the Colorado mountains to see the golden change of the aspen trees along the way.
I take this drive up in early October and stop along hwy 24 at the ranger station to walk the trails through the trees and take pictures of all the beautiful colors this nature walk has to offer. From there I continue my drive deeper into the mountain passes and enjoy the fall foliage along the the way.
My last stop through the mountain towns is always Breckinridge, where I enjoy walking the river to see more trees changing color. At this elevation the leaves are already starting to fall, which I love walking through them & hearing them crunch under my steps. Of course I always have to walk the town as well and stop into some of the unique little stores to window shop. I think my favorite is Cabin Fever & the Christmas Shop with some of their handmade crafted items. Last but not least I always have to stop at Eric’s for their spicy double baked wings & a local brewed beer before continuing on my walk through the town!
No matter what side of the mountains you choose to drive, its all full of fall colors & beauty! This is one of many outdoor activities I look forward too every year and will always make this a yearly tradition where ever I am at.
